The annual event of showcasing or premiering the films of Indian filmmakers around the globe will kick off on April 8 with world premiere of Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer “Haraamkhor”. The 13th edition of Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) will showcase more than 30 films at ArcLight Hollywood in Los Angeles, Calif., the festival’s home since its inception since 2003.
Among the list of movies to be showcased at the successful event run, Haraamkhor is hot cake as the versatile actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is playing as a teacher who maintains illicit affair with one of his students. The movie, in which he portrays the different minded teacher role Shyam, was directed by debut feature director Shlok Sharma and produced by Anurag Kashyap and Guneet Monga, who was felicitated with the Industry Leadership Award at IFFLA in 2013, the film, is helmed by debut feature director Shlok Sharma.
IFFLA concludes April 12 with the U.S. premiere of Nagesh Kukunoor’s “Dhanak,” which had an award-winning premiere at the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year.
