Narendra Modi To Attend Quad Summit In Person On September 24th

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the first-ever Quad Summit that will take place on September 24th. The summit will be hosted by American President Joe Biden and Narendra Modi will attend in person. Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison along with Yoshihide Suga, the Prime Minister of Japan will attend the summit as per the update. The Ministry of External Affairs issued an official statement about the Quad Summit in Washington. Narendra Modi will also address the General Debate of the High-Level Segment on the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on September 25 in New York.

The theme is Building Resilience to recover from the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The Ministry of External Affairs said that Modi will speak about how to respect the rights of the people and the needs of the planet along with how to rebuild the sustainability. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said that the four leaders will discuss about their ties and cooperation in battling coronavirus along with addressing the climatic crisis. Joe Biden hosted the first-ever summit of the Quad leaders which was a virtual conference. The meeting also sent a strong message to China. The latest meeting of the Quad Summit will have the leaders in attendance. They are expected to discuss about the aggressive behaviour of the China and about the South China Sea.

It was in 2017, India, USA, Japan and Australia approved the proposal to set up a Quad to discuss about the new strategies and discuss about the critical sea routes in the Indo-Pacific.
