Amid rising tension between India and Pakistan in the wake of Pulwama terror attack, Nobel Laureate United Nations Messenger of Peace Malala Yousafzai urged Prime Ministers of both the Asian countries, Narendra Modi and Imran Khan, to show ‘true leadership’ by shaking hands and settling the long-pending Kashmir issue.

Malala shared a note on Twitter with a hashtag #SayNoToWar, says retaliation and revenge isn’t a right option as it rarely ends.

“I ask the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan and the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi to show true leadership in this difficult time: to sit down, shake hands and settle the current conflict and long-standing issue of Kashmir through dialogue,” the young Nobel Laureate tweeted.

Indo-Pak tension has been on the rise ever since the terror attack on Indian Central Reserve Police personnel convoy at Pulwama by Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). Days after the attack, the Indian Air Force (IAF) crossed the Line of Control and launched a 1,000 kg bomb on alleged JeM camps in Balakot.

Things intensified further when Pakistani Air Force’s fighter jets entered Indian airspace targeting India’s military installations near LoC.

Indian Air Force (IAF) Wing Commander Abhinandhan Varthaman was taken into custody by Pakistani troops after his MiG Bison was shot down by Pakistan’s air defense.
