An active shooter was reported at the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon in San Diego, according to press report. Police said that the incident is contained and the suspect has been taken into custody.

The media reports stated as a woman was firing rounds towards the marathon on Sunday around 11:30 a.m. pacific time. The woman was on the eighth floor of the Civic Center parking garage and even held a gun to her mouth.

The woman slide underneath a parked car before holding a gun to her face, according to The San Diego Union Tribune. There is no word yet on any civilian casualties but CBS 8 reports one officer has been shot and is being treated. It appears the officer accidentally shot himself.

Thousands of runners were participating in the annual marathon and once the situation was contained, the marathon resumed as normal as of 12:16 p.m. pacific time, according to NBC San Diego. The incident occurred very close to the marathon's finish line.
