The driver of a stolen car, that leading police and the California Highway Patrol on a wild pursuit across Orange County on Sunday jumped from the moving car and ran from officers before he was detained.
According to the Fullerton Police Department, the pursuit began in the Fullerton area on Sunday evening at 8:30 PM. The driver of the stolen car lead authorities from the 91 Freeway to surface streets in the Orange County area.
The police described the driver as a man in his 20s, who was the only person in the vehicle. The driver's mother contacted police to tell them that her son was armed.
During the chase, the police saw the driver waving his arm outside the window. The car zig-zagged in and out of traffic, dodging other vehicles on the roadway while driving on the wrong side of the street.
The pursuit ended around 9:40 PM, when the driver jumped out of the car at the intersection of Lincoln and Magnolia in Anaheim.
