
In an incident occurred at a Chevron Gas Station, which is at the intersection of Vermont St and Los Feliz. A Bangladeshi man who was working at the gas station was shot dead during a robbery in Los Angeles on 18th January
The victim has been identified as 32-year old Mizanur Rahman, he worked during night at the gas station and was pursuing MBA.A local customer Benoit Hecquet told to local news that the incident was schocking, Rahman was a polite man and talkative.
Los Angeles police are yet to identify the main murder suspect.
Detective Megan Aguilar said Rahman was manning the cash counter that night.
An unknown man confronted Rahman with a gun and asked him to empty the cash box, the suspect then collected all the cash and shot Rahman several times before escaping.
Rahman somehow managed to call 911 and then police arrived on the scene with an ambulance.
He was pronounced dead by doctors after reaching the hospital, Rahman succumbed to his wounds.
Police officials said that officers are trying their best to identify the suspect.
Police officers are currently reviewing CCTV footage from 32 cameras near the gas station.
Rahman’s Bangladeshi co-workers said that he was the only son of his parents, his father is a retired school teacher and mother is a primary school teacher.
A co-worker from the gas station Carlos Franciso said that “he knew this might happen, and it left him heartbroken”. Rahman was a dreamer, use to work in the nights and study in day to make himself better.
Bangladesh Consul in Los Angeles Sudipta Alam told that they are in touch with the Police department. And they have called on to apprehend the murderer as soon as possible.
The Consul said, that police will transfer the dead body to the consulate when autopsy and other standard procedures have been completed,
The consulate are making the arrangements to fly the body to Rahman’s home town in Bangladesh.
Los Angeles City Bangladeshi community leader Mominul Haque Bacchu said, Rahman came to the USA to pursue MBA in 2014 after completing his BBA degree at Chittagong International University.
