To ramping up minority support, the Democratic presidential candidate Donald Trump met with several African-American community leaders in Philadelphia. He also visited a black church in Detroit before his meeting with black leaders. The event was held at a catering hall operated by Philadelphia’s Greater Exodus Baptist Church.
The GOP nominee gathered for a roundtable discussion with a dozen business, civic, and religious leaders in the black community.
The LATimes reported, Amoore, a supporter of Trump since the GOP primaries, said that, "He's here, in a black community that's news," "He is starting a conversation."
Calvin Tucker, an African-American surrogate for the campaign and one of the handful of black delegates at the Republican national convention in July, introduced Trump to the group.
There were two candidates for Congress among the attendees, Rev. Dr. Deborah Williams, the Republican nominee in Pennsylvania’s first and James Jones, the GOP nominee in Pennsylvania’s second Congressional district.
