La Posada,a nonprofit organization earned the National Community Partnership Award. The organization serves Spanish-speaking immigrants in south-central Idaho.
It has been awarded for its ideal community partnership with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.The award has given by ICE for the fourth year. It organizes an individual citizen or non-governmental organization or group.
La Posada was founded by Sister RoseMary Boessen. She received the award on April 26, in Washington, D.C. Her organization aims to help migrant workers, immigrants and their families adjust to life here.
An ICE statement said that, “La Posada has partnered with ICE by identifying and communicating important information from family members of detainees that were reluctant to speak directly with law enforcement personnel.”
