A tour bus en route to Ventura caught fire on Sunday, leaving the driver dead and four of the passengers injured.

The fire officials said, they received a panic call around 1 p.m stating that a tour bus was on fire near the intersection of interstate 40 and Needless Highway. The bus was returning from Laughin, Nevada to Ventura.

San Bernardino County Fire Department said the bus was on fire "with heavy smoke traveling throughout the bus,” when fire fighters arrived the place.

The driver of the San Luis Obispo bus managed to evacuate all 52 passengers. Four people are undergoing treatment for injuries with one suffering from respiratory problem.

The driver told the fire officials that he heard some explosion like sound from rear tire and immediately pulled over to the side of the road. Further, adding he told that the back of the bus instantly caught fire and he began vacate the bus.

Official estimate the loss to be at $2,50,000.

The cause of the fire is yet to be found.
