Lindsey Adams, 22, and her 20-year-old sister Leslie have been arrested in Cambodia for taking nude photos of each other inside Angkor Wat temple. Official said that these nude act by tourist has sparked agitation among the local people.

The two sisters were discovered taking naked photos inside the Preah Khan temple of Angkor Wat on Friday, said the Apsara Authority - the government agency managing the Angkor complex.

"The two tourists admitted that they really made a mistake by taking nude photos," the statement read.

Chau Sun Kerya, a spokeswoman for the Apsara Authority said that it is an offence as Angkor is a religious place.

"Perhaps they did not know Angkor is a holy site. But their inappropriate activities affect the sanctity of the place," she told

It is the second time in the last fortnight that tourists visiting to the holy temple have been caught without clothes.

The modern name of Angkor Wat is “Temple City” in Khmer. It is a famous World Heritage site. It was first Hindu, later a Buddhist temple complex in Cambodia. It is the largest religious temple in the world built by the Khmer King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century.
