Honor seems poised to speed up its main product launches in China, as fresh leaks reveal information about the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-driven "super-sized" smartphones. As Xiaomi introduces its latest main offering, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, eyes are now on what Honor will do next. Recent reports indicate that the Honor Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design might come out sooner than anticipated, possibly before the Chinese Spring Festival and ahead of competing high-end models from Vivo and Oppo. After the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, the next sizable flagship using the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is likely to be the Honor Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design. A post on Weibo from tipster Digital Chat Station suggests that this device is being prioritized for a launch before the Spring Festival on February 17, 2026. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra has already made its debut in China, becoming the latest part of Xiaomi's premium range and setting a standard for other high-end devices. At the same time, two other significant players are preparing for a slightly delayed launch.
The Vivo X300 Ultra and Oppo Find X9 Ultra are both predicted to come out after the Spring Festival. These smartphones are expected to have 2K flat screens and a 200-megapixel LYT901 super-large main camera sensor, marking them as direct competitors in the high-end smartphone market. It is still uncertain which will be released first, the Vivo X300 Ultra or the Oppo Find X9 Ultra. Previous information hinted at a launch window in the first quarter of 2026 for Vivo's Ultra model, while Oppo is reportedly speeding up its development for the Find X9 Ultra series. Importantly, the Honor Magic 8 and Honor Magic 8 Pro were introduced in China back in October with the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and MagicOS 10. They feature displays measuring 6.58 inches and 6.71 inches, respectively, and are powered by batteries of 7,000mAh and 7,200mAh.
The Honor Magic 8 Pro has a triple rear camera arrangement with a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 200-megapixel telephoto camera that offers 3.7x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom, supported by Honor's AIMAGE Nox Engine and CIPA 5.5 stabilization features. Additionally, it includes a 50-megapixel front-facing camera along with a 3D depth sensor. The standard Honor Magic 8 also comes with a triple rear camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 64-megapixel telephoto lens that provides 3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom, plus a 50-megapixel wide-angle selfie camera.
